So here's my alien child. I can literally say that I didn't recognize his face for four days. Four days without his beautiful face. Instead replaced with collagen-looking fish lips. Poor little Gavin. No baby should have had to go through what he did two weeks ago. I must preface this story with the fact that Gavin is a walking timebomb. He is constantly falling down and running into things, so it was only a matter of time before he needed a doctor's care. So Sunday morning comes around, 8 AM, and Gavin falls onto the bottom stair of the staircase (which is carpeted too, by the way). Immediately blood starts spouting out and I'm thinking, oh crap. Steve holds him while I peek inside his mouth. Big gaping hole. Double oh crap. We decide that the ER is in order after calling some insightful moms, and Steve whisks him off. I'm on church duty with the girls. An hour later, miraculously, Steve's back with Gavin (who is now passed out asleep). Come to find out that four nurses and a doctor, along with Steve, held Gavin down while he got his 3 stiches. I'm immediately glad that I didn't have to go. I don't think I could've handled that. But five days of healing and penicilin later, I've got my little guy back, beautiful as ever.
