Rugrats, A Live Adventure
In an effort to record last night's opening night for Rugrats, I'm posting a short little spiel.
Sets and props are finished (hallelujah), I'm eating a quick bite and chatting it up, and Aliza is all "Angelica'd" up. Which, of course, included fake eyelashes, a huge pettiskirt with pettipants, and HUMONGOUS boutique-style bows that, yours truly, made.
12 minutes before showtime, and she's already in her spot. No one has to tell her which side of the stage to be on, or when she should be there. And they DEFINITELY don't have to feed her her lines. She's amazing.
Show begins and she's hamming it up. Mean faces, pushes. My little Angelica is perfect. Not to mention her solo, which sounded fabulous.
And the pinnacle of the production was when Aliza ad libbed several lines in two different parts because a fellow cast member totally botched it. Who knew she was capable?!
Can't wait to see the show from the front! Forget this backstage crap.
