Becoming a young lady

Where has the time gone? I've suddenly found myself with an 8 year old!

Over a week ago, Aliza was baptized by her dad. And what a wonderful experience that was. We had over 30 members of our family join with us to witness the amazing day. That morning, as I was getting Gavin and Grace ready, I overheard Steve and Aliza talking in her room. Not wanting to spoil their "talk", I just quietly listened in through the crack in the door. I could overhear Steve asking Aliza questions about being baptized and about the Holy Ghost, and then explaining details to her that she may have not known. It was so sweet! And I never cease to be amazed at when Steve decides to turn up the parenting knob to high all of a sudden.

Afterwards, we had lunch with everyone at the park. I made shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches, spinach salad, fruit salad/dip, and cucumber punch. My mom also brought monster cookies and Terry brought chips. Let's just say there was tons of food! But even with all the prepping, cleaning, and slight disaster, I had a fabulous, non-stressful weekend. We shopped, swam, ate, and enjoyed our warm weather and most importantly, Aliza became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and received the Holy Ghost!

We were so glad to have been there, it is moments like that in our lives that are truly important. And what a fun way for the cousins to bond and be together, they will always remember that day/weekend. Thanks for organizing everything and making it so easy to be a part of!
