Why It's Fun To Be A Mother...

1. My girls have been planning my big day for days in advance. Aliza dutifully made a list and time of when we were to handle all the merriment.

2. Mother's Day songs during sacrament meeting. I'm lucky enough to be in primary, so I slyfully suggested MY favorite mother's day song to the music leader. And yes, I Often Go Walking was performed magically that very sunday.

3. Breakfast in bed. Granted, it WAS a 7:30am breakfast, but we have church at 9am, so beggars can't be choosers. And Steve even added some chocolate-covered strawberries dipped by HIM. Yum.

4. Hidden surprises in the girls' closet. They decided that their hamper was taking up too much room in the aforementioned closet, so it got the boot. When you've spent the last week in preparation, you definitely need some space for it all. And I was threatened not to peek in it.

5. Jewelry. Steve bought me some new jewelry, which Gavin broke two seconds later. UGH. Guess I'll finally have to invest in those needle nose pliers I've been thinking about.

6. Home-made presents. Aliza took the cake with what she made in her class at school. I've attached horrible photos of what it was (2 flower pens in a vase of beans), but they don't do it justice. The poem she wrote about me said:
Lindsay
Grateful. Fancy.
Polish. Young. and Fun.
I love her pretty face!!!
Mama

I read it aloud when she first gave it to me, and I was confused by the POLISH remark. My first thought was, "How does she know that my Grandma is from Poland?" (which she IS). And Aliza jumped in and corrected me. It's polish, as in Nail Polish. Hmmm....what funny things kids think about you.

Cute Lindsay...mother's day just keeps getting better when the little surprises are from your own children. Hunter was dying to give me his homemade ring holder and was just happy that it didn't break:)

SO STINKIN CUTE!!!! Can't wait until my kids are old enough to figure it out on their own... maybe I should send this list to Beau as a heads up for next year... we need to keep him on his toes. And yes, wonderful selection of music for Sunday, I LOVED it!
